Itineraries
DAY 01:
SALTA
Arrival in Salta airport and transfer to our accommodation. The rest of the day will be free for us to discover this particular city. Overnight in Salta.DAY 02:
SALTA / CACHI - MOLINOS
Breakfast and departure by the Valle de Lerma to the town of El Carril. We will cross the Quebrada de los Laureles and then the Quebrada de Escoipe, then we will enter on the Cuesta del Obispo, where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Valle Encantado (Enchanted Valley) and small houses with corn crops and fruits. Then, we will go through the National Park Los Cardones by the Recta de Tin - Tin (Tin -Tin Straight), an old Inca Trail. Arriving in Cachi we will enjoy a panoramic view of “Nevado de Cachi” and Payogasta. We will visit the town of Cachi with the Museum of Archaeology and the Church and will continue our way to Molinos. Overnight in Molinos.DAY 03:
MOLINOS / CAFAYATE / QUEBRADA DE CAFAYATE / SALTA
Breakfast and we will continue our journey along Route 40 to admire mountain scenery, such Quebrada de las Flechas (Gorge of Arrows), San Carlos and Animaná until arrival at Cafayate where we will visit wineries of the region and taste their products. Then we will return to Salta discovering along the way the curious formations eroded by wind and water as the Dunes, Toad, Bishop, Devil's Throat, The Castles, The Amphitheater, among others. Arrival in the Salta city. Overnight in Salta.DAY 04:
SALTA / QUEBRADA DE HUMAHUACA / PURMAMARCA
Breakfast. We will leave Salta, but really the journey begins once we arrived in Purmamarca town where time will be enough to observe the Cerro de los 7 Colores (Seven Colored Hill), the Church and the Craft Market on the square, and a small walk along its narrow streets. We will continue towards the town of Tilcara where we will visit the Pucará (ancient ruins) and the Archaeological Museum; Huacalera town and then we will cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera de la Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures can be taken because of the daylight. We will visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the “Arcabucero Angels” (important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School) are kept. The arrival in Humahuaca will be at noon. This town has an important church and the Monument of the Independence (the cacique Viltipoco). After lunch, we willl observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Painter’s Palette ) framing the town of Maimarà. We will continue until Purmamarca. Overnight en Purmamarca.DAY 05:
PURMAMARCA / SALINAS GRANDES / SAN ANTONIO DE LOS COBRES / TOLAR GRANDE
A “Trip to the Clouds”, following the train tracks. We will go to Campo Quijano "Portal de los Andes", the spectacular Quebrada del Toro, and then the pre-Incan ruins of the ancient town of Santa Rosa de Tastil. We will also observe the great engineering work on railway parallel to the route, bridges, viaducts, zig-zags and different seasons. Ascend up to 4080 m. Abra Blanca, in the vastness of the Puna. Arrival in San Antonio de los Cobres nestled among engaging the Andes, and then go through the Salar de Pocitos and reach Tolar Grande. Overnight in Tolar Grande.DAY 06:
TOLAR GRANDE / SALAR DE ARIZARO / CONO DE ARITA / OJO DE MAR / TOLAR GRANDE
At morning, we will depart to cross the Salar de Arizaro - Caipe to reach the heart of the highlands and the Cono de Arita, here we will trek up to the base of the cone. Back to Tolar Grande to watch the sunset in different volcanoes. Overnight in Tolar Grande.DAY 07:
TOLAR GRANDE / SAN ANTONIO DE LOS COBRES / QUEBRADA DEL TORO / SALTA
Departure to the city of Salta. Arrival at Salta city and lodging. Overnight in Salta.DAY 08:
SALTA - AIRPORT
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport where our tour ends.- Incoming Services
