DAY 01: SALTA

Visiting the Salta city

Arrival at Salta airport and pick up the rental car to go to the hotel in city and accommodation. Then you can will visit the more emblematic parts of the city, such as: 9 de Julio Park, the Cathedral, the Archeological Museum, "Cerro San Bernardo" or the famous MAAM (Museum of high Altitude Archaeology), that night you should spend the nightlife in Salta. Overnight in Salta.

DAY 02: SALTA/JURAMENTO RIVER/CAFAYATE

Rafting in the Juramento river

After breakfast, we will depart by Route 68 crossing Cerrillos, La Merced and El Carril to arriving at Coronel Moldes town where in a few kilometers is the “Parador Salta Rafting”, here we will stop to find and to make a nice experience, a rafting in Juramento River. After we deliver the necessary equipment, we will start the descent through the rapids of the Juramento River. There are 10 class III rapids plus 5 class II rapids, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the canyon. The Juramento Canyon is a huge open cut between the mountains with walls of 65 million years ago, ancient beaches inhabited in the past by prehistoric animals. The rafting starts in the base (Route 47, km 34) and ends 12 kilometers downstream in the place called “Los Lapachos”. The trip back to the base takes 20 minutes in our vehicles. Then we have the option for lunch "asado" in the base or to continue to Cafayate. In the way, we will enjoy a lot of magnificent landscapes such us "Garganta del Diablo", "Los Mèdanos", etc. We will have the reservation in a hotel. Overnight in Cafayate.

Day 03: CAFAYATE

Visit Cafayate wineries

Breakfast and you can go to visit some wineries of Cafayate and tasting their products such us "Piatelli vineyard and Nanni wines" or others vineyards in the region.

DAY 04: CAFAYATE/MOLINOS

Visiting Molinos town & trekk

After breakfast, we will go through the Route 40 into the Valles Calchaquíes, a valley system on the eastern foothills of the Andes. Our next stop will be the Quebrada de Las Flechas, we can explore it with a short hike. Here too, the wind and rain worked out incredible shapes of the white sandstone. In Molinos, we recommend a visit to the church and the adjacent historic building where once resided Don Nicolás Severo de Isasmendi, the last royal spanish governor. We will also find the Hacienda de Molinos, where we will spend the night. A short detour takes us to Criadero Coquena, a vicuñas hatchery, where these interesting animals live semi-wild here. Overnight in Molinos.

DAY 05: MOLINOS/CACHI/SALTA

Discovering an archeological history

The "Handicraft Route" is our next attraction to discover, on the 55 km long route from Molinos to Cachi. Cachi is probably the most charming city in the Valles Calchaquíes, with a visit to San Josè Church, an architectural monument in adobe construction, whose façade are crowned by three old free-hanging bells. Highly recommended is a visit to Archeological Museum "Pío Pablo Diaz" and the cemetery because of here we will have the most beautiful view over the city, the inner valley and the southern part of the Valles Calchaquíes. Next, we will continue our journey through about 157 km to Salta, on the Recta del Tin-Tin and the National Park Los Cardones. Arrival at Salta and lodging. Overnight in Salta.

DAY 06: SALTA/SALINAS GRANDES/TILCARA

Discovering a great salt sea

We will go up the hill by the main road that goes parallel to the Tren a las Nubes to Santa Rosa de Tastil. Then, we will drive on the “Cuesta del Obispo” to San Antonio de los Cobres. Here, we will do stop and will enjoy this beautiful and little town. Later, we will take the road until arrival at "Salinas Grandes". After enjoying this surprising and stunning scenery, we will arrive at Purmamarca, where is the famous "Cerro de los 7 Colores" (Seven Colored Hill) then we will continue to Tilcara where we will stay. Overnight in Tilcara.

DAY 06: TILCARA/PURMAMARCA

Towns of ravine

In Tilcara, you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the fascinating ruins of Pucarà fortress, as it can be found in a typical plant of the natives in many places in the central Andes. After a short drive you can visit Maimará town and their museums about the farming live´s, lunch in this lovely town and walk their little streets.

Day 07: HUMAHUACA/HORNACAL

Visiting Humahuaca with Hornacal milenario

After breakfast you can departure to visit the famous Humahuaca, here is the imposing sculture in memory of the Independece war. You can lunch in this town and then go to visit the spectacular site "Hornacal milenario". You discover a unique landscape with fourteen differents colours in their land. The sunset here is magnificent. After descending return to the hotel in Tilcara.

DAY 08: TILCARA/SALTA

Return to Salta airport

After breakfast we say goodbye to ravine and we will drive to Salta airport, where we will return the rental car. We will take a flight to the next destination.
