Itineraries

DAY 01:

SAN RAFAEL (MDZ), CITY TOUR

Arrival in San Rafael terminal bus station and transfer to hotel. Lodging. In the afternoon, we will begin the visit of the city. San Rafael offers us to go through its wide and tree-lined avenues, its green outdoor spaces such as the Hipólito Irigoyen Park in whose interior is the Greek Theater Chacho Santa Cruz, or the main square of the city: Gral. San Martin. Places that speak to us of the past; as the Military History Museum, The Immigrant Square and buildings of recognized religious and architectural value as the San Rafael Arcangel Cathedral. Then, we will visit a winery and a chocolate factory. Return to the hotel. Overnight in San Rafael.

DAY 02:

SAN RAFAEL / MALARGÜE – RIDE AT SUNSET

Breakfast and transfer to the terminal bus station to take the bus to Malargüe (2 1/2 hours). Arrival and accommodation. Free time for lunch and rest. At sunset, we will make our ride to Colonia Pehuenche, located 6 km south of the city of Malargüe. It is an area of farms with an impressive frame "The Andes". It starts with the ride through paths between farms enjoying the scenery up to a Malales (fences) from where we can see a beautiful view of Malargüe and its surroundings, where we will wait the sunset accompanied by mates and homemade bread. At night, we will back to our starting point. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Malargüe.

DAY 03:

MALARGÜE / LA PAYUNIA

We will leave the hotel very early in the morning to the Reserve Payunia about 130 km south on the magical Route 40 to the grand canyon of basalt rock that built the Rio Grande at "La Pasarela", where we will have breakfast. Entering through the oil field Fortunoso entered the touristy part of the reserve where we will stop in the Black Pampas, Volcano La Herradura, land volcanic stones, The Colors, Wax Museum and lunch at the Real del Molle (lunch box). We will continue along the road enjoying the native fauna, guanacos, rhea, armadillos, foxes and many birds. We will come back by the same way to enter the Pampas Negras and will arrive at the imposing Volcano El Morado where we will hike to the crater pock. We will return by Pampas de Palauco where we will take a snack in a typical goat breeder where local people receive us at home. We will continue the journey to see the first volcanic cones of Llancanelo. With a beautiful panoramic view of Malacara Volcano, we will stop at the viewpoint of the Volcanoes to talk about volcanology, history and we will appreciate the flora. Back to Malargüe. Overnight in Malargüe.

DAY 04:

MALARGÜE / CAVES OF THE WITCHES & MANQUI MALAL CASCADE

After breakfast, we will head towards the south of the city of Malargüe for about 65 km, where we will find an inescapable place.“The Cave of the Witches”. Nestled in the Cerro Moncol to 1831 m, between Chequen-co and Chacay-Co streams, it offers an unforgettable journey into a very special highlight: the Karst. This cave is a particular underground environment, where once again the diversity of the world beyond our sense of wonder. Old marine rocks called "limestone" and a huge cavity lined with strange mineral forms: stalactites, stalagmites, columns, veils of various shapes and colors and white, yellow and brown corals. All form a unique setting full of mystery and beauty to discover. We will find a self-guided interpretive trail native wildlife extension of 306 m in which biodiversity can be found in the reserve and surrounding shown. On the way back, on Route 40 we will find Manqui Malal Cascade, which in the mapuche language means; Manqui (Còndor) and Malal (Barda), where we will trek to find the waterfall with his jump of 29 m fed by streams and rivers of the area. Then, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Malargüe.

DAY 05:

MALARGÜE / MENDOZA CITY

At time indicated, transfer to terminal for taking our bus to Mendoza city. Arrival and transfer to hotel. Accommodation. Overnight in Mendoza.

DAY 06:

MENDOZA / FULL DAY WINE EXPERIENCE

Early in the morning, we will meet the oenologist who will accompany us throughout the tour. We will depart to Mendoza’s agricultural oasis and will visit two prestigious wineries, of wine’s circuit. We will visit its facilities and be able to participate in a guided wine tasting, during which we will begin to familiarize ourselves with the local wines and its elaboration process.

Our guide will explain us the technique of wine tasting, wine production techniques, the importance of the cork in the bottle and the correct way to handle a glass in order to taste wine. At noon, we will have lunch in a recognized winery, where we will enjoy an unforgettable gastronomic experience. In the afternoon, we will be able to visit other winery and will enjoy a wine tasting session. As the sun sets behind the Andes mountains, we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Mendoza.

DAY 07:

MENDOZA / BUENOS AIRES

Breakfast and transfer to Mendoza airport to take our flight to our next destination.
